Starpulse is reporting that the producers of Meryl Streep’s new movie ‘It’s Complicated,’ are to appeal its ‘R’ rating classification.
Officials at the MPAA’s Classification and Rating Administration have ruled that people under the age of 17 will have to be accompanied by a consenting adult to see the movie in the U.S., because of “some drug content and sexuality.” But Starpulse says producers are seeking a softer rating by appeal and that an R could affect the romantic comedy’s Academy Award aspirations.
The story follows a love quadrangle between Jane (Streep), her ex-husband Jake (Alec Baldwin), Jake’s current and much younger wife Agness (Lake Bell), and Adam, an architect hired to remodel Jane’s kitchen (Steve Martin).
‘It’s Complicated’ comes out December 25.
