Sean “Puff Daddy P. Diddy” Combs is learning to sing. The hip hop mogul is reportedly taking voice lessons so he can sing along with his new group, Diddy Dirty Money.

The trio includes Combs, Kalenna Harper and Dawn Richard of Danity Kane. Their debut album, romantically titled Last Train to Paris, is due for release in September.

Diddy had the following to say about his singing lessons, according to Perez Hilton:

“On this new album there’s a love story and in this love story I’m expressing myself in different ways, and sometimes I’m singing.

“I wanted to make sure I wasn’t going to have myself out there. I was going to take the proper lessons.”

Meanwhile, that’s not the only new direction the rapper wants to take. In the wake of Ellen’s announced departure from American Idol, Diddy has expressed his desire to get on the show’s judging panel, according to the AP.

“At first when people were asking me if I was interested in the job I was like no … that’s not my style, but once I heard what Simon makes … [I] would love the job,” he told chat show host George Lopez on his show Lopez Tonight.

“I’ve got six kids. If I would get the same cheque Simon gets … we would have a ball,” he added.

Not that it looks like needs the cash. Diddy recently bought his son Justin Dior a $360, 000 Maybach luxury car for his 16th birthday.
