Lindsay Lohan is ready to fight. For her career.
The troubled young Hollywood starlet says that she knows she’s made mistakes but that she is “a damn good actress” who wants a return to the incredible career she once had.
“I want my career back,” LiLo tells Vanity Fair in the current issue of the magazine. “I know that I’m a damn good actress, and it’s been my passion since I was a child, and I know that when I care about something, I put 100% and more into it.”
The interview took place last month, just before the 24-year-old star headed off to the big house to do her time stemming from parole violations that followed a 2007 DUI arrest.
USA Today and the New York Post published excerpts from the interview on Tuesday. In them, Lohan admits to her irresponsibility, but says that a lack of structure in her life led to her making a lot of bad choices.
“I was irresponsible,” she admits. “I didn’t have any structure…I think a lot of it was because when I was doing my first slew of movies, it was very go-go, and I had a lot of responsibility, and I think just the second I didn’t have [structure] anymore — I was 18, 19 — with a ton of money.”
Lohan also takes a swipe at her infamous father, tabloid magnet and notorious meddler Michael Lohan. “I think if anyone should be looked at medically it’s him,” she says. “He has such a big chemical imbalance at this point because of all the things he’s done to himself.”
