But all this success behind the camera hasn’t helped Affleck forget the first picture he shot back in 1993. The star tells EW the 13-minute short is so bad it  “haunts” him.

“It’s horrible. It’s atrocious,” says Affleck of the picture he titled I Killed My Lesbian Wife, Hung Her on a Meat Hook, and Now I Have a Three-Picture Deal With Disney.

“I knew I wanted to be a director, and I did a couple of short films, and this is the only one that haunts me. I’m not proud of it.” The 38-year-old says that if he were judged on the short alone, no one could imagine the career he has today. “It looks like it was made by someone who has no prospects,” he says, “No promise.”

Affleck will have the chance to redeem himself when The Town kicks down theatre doors September 17th.

But nothing is ever easy. The Pan’s Labyrinth director is being forced to battle with the suits at Universal Studios over who should star in the potentially epic blockbuster.

Del Toro has made it known that he wants none other than Top Gun and Mission: Impossible star Tom Cruise front and centre when the cameras roll. Universal however, is arguing for Atonement and The Last King of Scotland star James McAvoy to take the lead.

Cruise’s star has fallen considerably in the past few years, leading to studio concerns that his presence in the new flick could hurt audience interest. But, according to a report on Collider, del Toro is sticking to his guns.

With McAvoy set to begin shooting X-Men: First Class – in which he stars as Professor X – and Cruise looking to start on M:I4, the banal question of shooting schedules could be the final factor in deciding who gets the role.

Production on Mountains is expected to begin in May 2011 with Avatar creator James Cameron producing.

Talking to MTV News about their roles in the upcoming Mexploitation grindhouse flick, Alba and co-star Michelle Rodriguez revealed that not everything is as it seems on the big screen. Though the Fantastic Four star appears to be nude in the shower, the 29-year-old actress claims it’s really just Hollywood smoke and mirrors.

“Oh no, no, no,” Alba tells the network. “I had undies on, and I had other stuff on, and they just sort of etched it out in post [production]. That’s not really me. I’m better covered up.”

“There was no nipple!” she adds. “No, no, no, no nipple.”

Rodriguez says she admires the work of the special effects artists responsible for such things. “I want to meet these guys who work in special effects and they are basically in charge of adding nipples,” she says. “It’s pretty bugged out.”

But Rodriguez wasn’t the only one impressed by the sculpted curves in the film. Alba says she was blown away by the hot bod of her co-star. “I want to know: Who sculpted that body?” Alba asks Rodriguez. “Because the whole time I’m watching you, I’m drooling. ‘She doesn’t have any cellulite, not an ounce of fat! What is going on?’”

Over the past few decades, Bono has put himself at the forefront of a number of worthy causes, most often having to do with developing nations and debt reduction, and has met with world leaders from every corner of the globe.

Blair writes in his new autobiography A Journey that, had Bono wanted, he could easily have been a world leader himself.

“(Bono) could have been a president or prime minister standing on his head,” Blair writes. “He had an absolutely natural gift for politicking, was great with people, very smart and an inspirational speaker… motivated by an abundant desire to keep on improving, never really content or relaxed.”

Blair notes that one of the keys to Bono’s success is his ability to treat others with respect, including figures often held in disdain by those on the left. Blair cites the surprise meeting between Bono and former U.S. president George W. Bush as a prime example.

“I knew he would work with George well,” he writes “And with none of the prissy disdain of most of his ilk.”

David Ciemny says the star, real name Stefani Germanotta, would binge on junk food and then refuse to eat for weeks at a time in order to fit into her elaborate and often revealing costumes. Ciemny says Gaga once lost 20lbs between wardrobe fittings.

The allegations are contained in the new book Poker Face: The Rise and Rise of Lady Gaga by Maureen Callahan. Ciemny is quoted as saying that he believes the Bad Romance singer is “sick.”

“When I say she was sick,” he says, “I mean physically and mentally.”

Gaga canceled four shows in the U.S. this past January, claiming to suffer from an irregular heartbeat caused by that common rock star ailment “exhaustion.” There were also reports she had suffered a “break down” in New Zealand last March.

The singer has previously acknowledged to CNN’s Larry King that she has tested “borderline positive” for Lupus, an autoimmune disease which has already claimed the life of her aunt.

Lady Gaga has not publicly responded to Ciemny’s claims.

While it may sound salacious, the hip-hop star was actually talking about making time with Katy in the recording studio. The pair teamed up for the summer smash California Gurls earlier this year and now the Drop It Like It’s Hot hit-maker is hoping for a repeat performance on his next album.

“We’re trying to get together and do something on my new album for my new record, so (I’m) definitely in contact with her,” Snoop says. “She’s a sweet girl and I had fun making the record with her.”

Contact Music reports that the D-O-Double Gizzle says that, despite some obvious differences, his music has a lot in common with Miss Perry’s. The basic ingredient, he figures, is “fun.”

“I’m looking forward to her being on my record as well,” says Snoop “My sound is just fun, good music. My music has always been about me having a good time, people feeling good, that’s what I’m looking for.”

Beyonce, once very much Daddy’s little girl, supposedly stopped speaking to her father after the incident and the relationship was allegedly never restored.

Talk had suggested that Beyonce’s hip-hop mogul husband, who recently formed a new management company, would be taking over her career.

A press release issued by Music World Entertainment, however, refutes the reports.
The release, found via Contact Music and posted on Music World’s official site, reads “Contrary to false rumors online, Beyonce and her manager Mathew Knowles unequivocally have had and continue to have a close personal and business relationship. Mathew Knowles is the sole and exclusive manager of Beyonce.”

Meanwhile, Kanye West recently announced via Twitter that he and Jay-Z are collaborating on a five-song album called Watch the Throne.

Two tracks by the duo, Power and Monster, have already debuted.

Kanye tweeted, “Me and jay bout to drop a 5 song album called “Watch the Throne”… and then later, “‘MONSTER’ ….. Happy GOOD Friday!!! The second song off of me and Jay album!”

T.I. (whose real name is Clifford Harris, Jr.) and his wife, former Xscape singer Tameka Cottle, were taken into custody in West Hollywood on Wednesday, September, 1, after a sheriff’s deputy allegedly smelled cannabis smoke coming from their vehicle during a traffic stop. Police allegedly found methamphetamine and ecstasy in the couple’s possession.  They were released early in the morning on September 2 on $10,000 bail each.

T.I. was only recently released from prison, where he just served seven months – followed by three in a halfway house — for a trying to buy machine guns and silencers, and is currently on probation. The new arrest could get him sent back to the big house. So, according to Contact Music, 50 is urging Tameka to take the fall.

On his Twitter page, 50 suggested, “Man TI and tiny done got picked up agin for methamphetamines and ecstacy dam man. Tiny gotta take that charge. Say it was yours Baby.”



Ain’t It Cool News reports that The Matrix star is considering a third adventure for Bill and Ted. Reeves stared alongside Alex Winter as the totally rad duo in a pair of gnarly teen comedies, Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure and Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey way back in 1989 and 1991.

While Reeves has rocketed to the top of Hollywood’s A-list, Winter has become a director of music videos, commercials and kid’s shows. But speaking at a marathon screening of the Bill & Ted pics for an audience in California, Winter hinted that plans may be in the works for a third outing.

Winter told the crowd that he, Keanu and Bill & Ted writer/creator Ed Solomon have been kicking around ideas for a third movie. An Ain’t It Cool spy in attendance says that Winter promised that if the trio “come up with a story that [is] worthwhile, it will happen.”

So nothing is set in stone. In fact, there may not even be a stone. But even the possibility that Bill & Ted may ride again is, in a word, heavy.

The dreamy 39-year-old is angling to make the transition from TV actor to Hollywood movie star. Now Showbiz411’s Roger Friedman reports that Hamm plans to star in a feature film written and directed by his long-time girlfriend.

Hamm tells Friedman he and girlfriend Jennifer Westfeldt intend to shoot the drama Friends With Kids during Mad Men’s upcoming off season. There’s only one more episode of the advertising drama left to film to complete the fourth season. Once it’s done the dynamic duo plan to cobble together the resources to shoot their indie.

Westfeldt previously wrote and starred in the acclaimed indie flick Kissing Jessica Stein. Hamm had a small part in that 2001 picture, but will star in the new one.

The couple hope to woo Anne Hathaway or Kristen Wiig to the project, but casting details are still coming together.

In the meantime, Hamm (and Draper) fans can look forward to seeing the actor in the upcoming heist caper The Town. There’s already considerable buzz for Ben Affleck’s follow up to Gone Baby Gone, in which Hamm has a featured role as an FBI agent.
